eBay API and Certification
How does In-auction work with eBay?
In-auction is an eBay™ Certified application that communicates directly with eBay™ servers in real time. In order for the application to communicate securely via Internet, a unique token must be obtained from eBay™. All tokens are generated by eBay™ specifically for your eBay™ account.
Do I need to get my own certification from eBay?
Only if you are planning to install In-auction on your server (as we already certified all of our hosted licenses). eBay™ requires each In-auction installation to pass certification before allowing you to connect to their live database. In-portal team will gladly assist you with the entire certification process by communicating with eBay™ on your behalf and by submitting the necessary documentation. Usually, the certification process takes 3-5 business days once your website has been setup.

Technical Requirements
What are user-side requirements to run In-auction?
The Default theme supplied with the software is compatible with IE 5.5 and higher, and Mozilla version 1.5 and higher. The Administrative Console requires IE 5.5, Mozilla 1.6 or higher with Java Script enabled, in order to be able to utilize all of its features.
What are server-side requirements to run In-auction?
As of version 4.3.0, In-portal Platform has the following server requirements:
- OS: MS Windows 2000/XP/Vista/2003/2008; Linux (most flavors); FreeBSD, BSDi, Sun Solaris.
- Web Server: IIS 5.0 or higher, or Apache 1.3 or higher. The Web Server must support PHP 5.x or higher.
Database: MySQL 4.1 or higher - Space Usage: 15 MB for the files, and 2 MB for the database for an empty installation. Thereafter, the database space usage is, on average, 0.7KB per 1 database record (Each record is a separate Category, Listing, Item, User, etc.).
To achieve the optimal performance, the server hardware requirements are dependent on the actual web site, its traffic, the load on the server, the software installed and the optimization of all components.
